Social Videographer
(Leeds+ and Story+)

Location: Greek Street, Leeds

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: Competitive

The Role

Story+ is a first of its kind media company. We operate a major social-native editorial brand that reaches millions of people every month, whilst also serving clients as a digital storytelling agency - providing them with thumb-stoppingly good video to reach audiences of their own.

We’re a small team of multi-skilled video storytellers - creatives, videographers and journalists helping regional and national brands do social video better, whilst building our own 125,000 follower-strong news platform (Leeds+) at the same time.

From strategy support through to stand-out video campaigns, our team pushes the boundaries of digital content creation every time. That’s what we want from you; someone with a real eye for detail and a ‘no limits approach’ to your craft. You’ll have a depth of experience commanding shoots and know everything that’s needed to bring a story to life through video - from good planning right through to the final edit.

The same team that completes projects for clients also works on Leeds+, the city’s social-first news platform reaching more than 3 million people a month on platforms like TikTok and Facebook. You’ll produce content for these channels too, documenting the best of what's happening in our city through compelling short-form video - you’ll be shooting a new restaurant opening one day, and covering Leeds Festival live the next!

About Story+

Our story began with the launch of Leeds+ towards the end of 2020, mid-lockdown and with the world at a standstill. In the time since, our small team of experienced digital storytellers have reached millions on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, producing engaging native social video features on all things Leeds. We’re here to explore key local issues, putting people at the heart of every story as well as celebrating the great food, drink and events that make our city the place it is.

But it doesn’t stop there. Under the wider Story+ brand we help businesses tell their own story too - working with clients to engage, market to and build loyal audiences on social media. Whether it's in these partnerships with brands up and down the country, or in the ways we engage Leeds+ audiences cross-platform, we always 'shoot for social', knowing how best to stop thumbs scrolling and stand out from the noise. We’re an expanding team working in the heart of Leeds city centre with a studio and live production facility at our disposal, and for the second time in the last year - we’re again looking to expand the team.

The Details

We’re looking for someone who can strengthen our video storytelling capacity, well versed in video production at all stages and an expert in crafting a narrative. You’ll be a competent self-shooter, with experience filming on broadcast quality camera equipment, but also not be afraid to get your hands dirty with lightweight mobile filming kits. You’ll be an advanced user of the Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere Pro.

We want someone to help us build on the momentum behind our growing social media channels, and take on commercial video projects too - working seamlessly with partners to achieve their goals.
